Josie George, Assistant Coach
Josie George is joining the West Slope coaching staff this summer! Josie grew up in Baltimore, MD playing lacrosse for as long as she can remember, ending her competitive career with 4 years at Johns Hopkins University from 2012 - 2016 under world-renowned coach and author Janine Tucker.
Josie's coaching experience started with high school and college summer camps, and eventually took her all the way to Uganda where she supported the establishment of the first ever national lacrosse team in Africa, and coached with several youth lacrosse programs across the country (read more here).
In 2013, Josie accompanied the Uganda Men's Lacrosse team to the FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Denver, CO., marking a tremendous turning point for the sport. Josie also coached at the NativeVision sports camp in Shiprock, NM on the Navajo Reservation servicing Native American youth through the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. After college, Josie continued to coach youth programs in the DC Metro area before moving out to Denver in 2019, and then finally to Telluride in late 2022 where Josie has been coaching the 8th girls this spring.
